Exhaust ventilation refers to the mechanical removal of air around specific equipment or from a general area or a room. Exhaust ventilation improves natural ventilation and increases an area’s air flow rate. Some cleaning chemicals have strong odors and when occupants are present, exhaust ventilation should be used.
