Jason Marshall Sc.D.

Dr. Marshall attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell earning a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1995, a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Studies 2001 and a Doctorate of Science in Occupational & Environmental Hygiene in 2008.

 

From 1995 to 1997, he worked at Standard Methods Inc. testing water samples for compliance with local and federal standards. In 1997, he was employed by the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) working in the Surface Solutions Laboratory as a Technician, evaluating the performance of alternative cleaning products. In 2000, he was promoted to Laboratory Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the TURI Laboratory. From 2007 to 2008, he served as the Acting Director of the lab expanding his responsibilities to overseeing all aspects of the laboratory’s work. In early 2008, he took over the permanent role of Lab Director.

 

During employment at the Toxics Use Reduction Institute, he has published several articles focusing on the work conducted at the Institute’s laboratory. Areas have centered on case studies of past solvent substitution work, papers on specific alternative cleaning products and their impact on the environment as well as surfactant studies in cleaning applications. In addition, he has participated in several Institute-wide research publications, most notably the Perchloroethylene section of the Five Chemicals Alternatives Assessment Study completed in 2006.
