Advisory Board Bio

Janey Barnes Ph.D.

Janey Barnes, Ph.D. is a principal and human factors specialist at User-View, Inc.  She is responsible for obtaining and managing projects and conducting state of the art user-centered design and evaluation for client programs.  Project work includes user-based research (from requirements gathering to usability testing) and iterative interaction design.  Dr. Barnes leads client programs that encompass every aspect of human factors.  From design research, testing and evaluation, user interface design to hardware and workspace design.

 

Throughout her career she has worked with clients including Hospira, Hill-Rom, Johnson Controls – Automotive Division, DaimlerChrysler, Thomson Multimedia (RCA), Ericsson, Volvo ITNA, Bank of America, and LPL Financial Services.  Specifically, she has worked closely with many commercial clients designing and evaluating user interfaces for medical devices, in-vehicle electronic displays, consumer electronic products, and complex software.
