Robert Wennekes
Robert Wennekes is Chairman of The International Guild of Professional Butlers, Founder and Chairman of The International Butler Academy, and Managing Director of Wennekes International Ltd., the number one consulting company in the world for the recruitment and training of domestic staff. His overall experience in Private Service, combined with the experience of consulting for international families and businesses has made Mr. Wennekes the foremost expert in the Private Service profession.
Wennekes was a Butler & Personal Assistant for more than fifteen years before he, in 1995, became a consultant to some of the wealthiest families in the world.
Wennekes' last position in Private Service was that of Head Butler at the American Embassy in Bonn, Germany. While in Bonn, Wennekes received a Certificate from the US White House for "Outstanding Service" in connection with the visit of the US president, Bill Clinton to Germany.
Because of Wennekes' experience in the Private Service profession, he has undertaken a leading role in the Private Service industry, given seminars on "The True Art of Service" around the world, introduced Service as a profession to Asia, traveled around the globe to protect the integrity of the Butling and Service profession, and consulted with many international families and businesses.
Wennekes is an expert in public relations and marketing and as such has been featured in numerous magazines and TV productions worldwide. Recently, while consulting in Beijing, China, Wennekes was featured in approximately 25 magazines, 30 newspapers and 11 television productions, all to do with the introduction of Service in Asia.
Wennekes' vision is for The International Guild of Professional Butlers to be the governing body to promote the Private Service profession as well as to ensure that both the profession and the public have the information needed to differentiate between those who are professional and those who are not. The ability to set standards, the many butler traits (discretion, honesty, flexibility, etc.) and other qualities a professional Butler & Personal Assistant must possess to succeed in the Private Service profession are Wennekes' passion.
