Toothbrush, old

Dentists generally recommend discarding a toothbrush after three months’ use. While that old brush might no longer be up to the job of cleaning your pearly whites, it makes a great mini scrub brush for getting at the dirt in corners, crevices and other tight spots that sponges, pads and larger brushes miss.

 

Old toothbrushes will safely clean most surfaces, with the possible exception of latex paint. They’re not a good choice for grout cleaning, either, unless you’re interested in working on that tile wall for a long, long time. Invest in a larger grout brush for this task.

 

Simply apply a spot of your favorite liquid cleaner to the old brush, and get busy. Just don’t mix up old and new toothbrushes!
