It’s not a good idea to use abrasive pads or scouring powders on the inside or exterior of a dishwasher. Scratches will accumulate on both surfaces, making future cleanings more difficult.
The front panel can be cleaned with a sponge or cloth dampened with either a water-and-hand-dishwashing-detergent solution or an all-purpose cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the sponge or cloth, not the surface; you don’t want cleaner to seep into the controls, where it can damage them, or into crevices, where it promotes gunk accumulations that can be difficult to remove later. Rinse the sponge, wipe the surface again, and dry it with a soft cloth.
After every wash cycle, wipe the door gasket and the mating surface on the door with a dry, or slightly damp, soft cloth.
The inside of the machine sees plenty of dishwasher detergent, so it doesn’t need regular cleaning. Remove mineral deposits and discolorations by placing a bowl containing one to two cups of undiluted white vinegar into an empty dishwasher, then running a regular wash cycle. Repeat with more vinegar if needed.
