Next to tile, Corian® is one of the toughest countertop materials available because it is a solid material, not a laminate.
Clean with soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner, and then rinse and wipe dry. To disinfect, spread a 1:1 solution of bleach and water over the surface. Allow it to work for a few minutes, rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
The manufacturer recommends spraying on Stone Care International’s Cleaner for Du Pont Corian®, letting it stand for 30 seconds, and then wiping the surface dry with a paper towel.
To restore a matte finish, use a green scrub pad in a circular motion over the entire surface. Countertop polish is recommended for semi-gloss and high-gloss finishes; professional refurbishment may be necessary for high-gloss surfaces that have become very dull.
Use heat pads or trivets when placing hot pots and pans on the countertop; cooking utensils should be cool before they are placed into a Corian® sink. Run cold tap water when pouring boiling water into the sink. Do not cut foods directly on countertops. Avoid exposing all surfaces to strong chemicals such as oven cleaner, nail polish remover or paint thinner; if accidentally spilled, flush them away immediately with water and wipe.
