True non-stick pots and pans aren’t made for dishwasher cleaning because of the detergents and high water temperatures involved. Because these surfaces scratch easily, wash by hand with the gentlest methods first. Try soaking the surface for a while in water with hand dishwashing liquid added, and then wash with a sponge or dish towel. If stuck-on food remains, scrub gently with a plastic or white nylon pad.

Avoid using colored nylon pads and gritty cleansers, which are too abrasive for non-stick surfaces. No-stick surfaces that have been scratched cannot be repaired and will be progressively harder to keep clean in the future. They must be replaced.
